AVI-8 4011 - Hawker Hurricane

The AV-4011 model is part of the AVI-8 Hawker Hurricane collection. This collection bears the name of a British fighter plane that distinguished itself on many occasions during the Second World War thanks to its armament and resistance. It was the first monoplane of the British army, the Royal Air Force.

Case: This vintage-style watch is characterised by a stainless steel case measuring 43 millimetres in diameter and 11 millimetres thick. A cockade is present on the crown located at 3 o'clock and surrounded by two push-pieces to activate the chronograph. This classic case is tinted in a metal colour giving it a unique style. A mineral glass protects the dial and case of this chronograph. In addition, the caseback is engraved with a drawing of the Hawker Hurricane aircraft recalling the model's origin.

Dial: The dial of this timepiece is composed of multiple details inspired by the Hawker Hurricane aircraft. It features three counters. In the lower part of the dial, a small seconds counter decorated with a blue, white and red flag represents a nod to France which used Hawker Hurricane aircraft during the Battle of France. At 9 o'clock, a counter representing the English cockade indicates the chronograph minutes. In the upper part, a 1/10th of a second dial provides precision to the chronograph when it is triggered. Then at 3 o'clock, the date display is surrounded by an aeroplane drawing, the name of the collection and then the brand logo in order to provide as much information as possible about this exceptional model. The inner ring of the dial indicates the Tachometer function which allows us to calculate a speed of movement in relation to a distance travelled. The two main hands are sword-shaped and, like the indexes, are covered with luminous pigment indexes reflecting in the night. The small hand is associated with the chronograph seconds.

Movement: A three-hand Japanese quartz chronograph movement equips this emblematic watch. This Miyota 1/10th of a second movement with date will ensure performances worthy of the AVI-8 brand.

Strap: Its elegant bracelet is made of genuine leather with a colour in harmony with the case and dial. A black pin buckle engraved with the brand's logo gives a perfect finish to this vintage model.

Water-resistance: This AVI-8 watch has a water-resistance of 5 ATM, i.e. a resistance of 50 metres. This water-resistance corresponds to a resistance to perspiration, splashes, rain and partial immersion such as when swimming or taking a shower. However, we recommend that you avoid contact with water for optimal conservation of the materials.
