AVI-8 4073 - Spitfire

Case: This watch is characterised by a round stainless steel case measuring 42 millimetres in diameter which follows the curve of the aircraft's wings in its rounded shape. At 3 o'clock, a notched crown in the shape of the nose of the propeller will enable you to set the time and date but also to wind up the mechanism of the automatic movement if necessary. An anti-reflective and resistant sapphire crystal covers the case. The case back reveals the automatic movement and its entire mechanism. The balance wheel is none other than an aircraft, the spitfire, perfectly represented, which creates the circular movement to operate the movement.
Dial: The dial of this timepiece is inspired by the Spitfire plane in many details. It is inspired by the altimeter dial on the plane's dashboard. Covered with Swiss luminous pigments allowing the dial to luminesce in low light conditions, the indexes and hands are also inspired by the shapes of the measuring instruments in the cockpit of the Sptifire aircraft. The hour hand takes the shape of the altitude indicator, while the minute hand is inspired by the design of the aircraft's speed indicator. At 5 o'clock, a small seconds counter replaces the second hand. A rectangular gaze displays the current date at 3 o'clock.
Movement: A 21-jewel Japanese automatic movement powers this watch. This Miyota 8218 two-hand movement with date and small seconds uses the kinetic force of your wrist to power your watch without a battery.
Bracelet: This exceptional model has a brushed stainless steel bracelet which incorporates a folding clasp. In addition, a genuine leather strap with a pin buckle is also supplied with this model allowing you to change style in a flash.
Water-resistance: This AVI-8 watch has a water-resistance of 5 ATM or 50 meters. This water-resistance corresponds to a resistance to perspiration, splashes, rain and partial immersion such as when swimming or taking a shower. However, we recommend that you avoid contact with water for optimal conservation of the materials.
